Two ocean pools within close proximity of each other at Cronulla, which can be accessed from either Dunningham Park or Cronulla Park.  The ocean pools are not patrolled by lifeguards.

There is an outdoor shower at the ocean pool closest to Cronulla Park.

Dogs are prohibited in the ocean pools or adjoining beaches.

Public toilets, changing facilities and showers are provided in Dunningham Park and at Cronulla Beach.

Alcohol consumption is prohibited at all times, unless written approval has been obtained by Council.

The ocean pool at Cronulla Beach (also known as South Cronulla) is an Olympic-sized tidal pool adjacent to the Esplanade.  The pool was designed to naturally flush by the action of tide and waves overtopping the seawall to maintain water quality. With changing seasonal tides and ocean conditions, however, the pool frequently fills with sand and seaweed which reduces the depth of the water in the pool. This continual influx necessitates regular pool closure and mechanical removal of the sand to re-establish water depths.  Each cleaning requires the removal of approximately 2000-2500 m3 of sand.

The pool will be closed for scheduled cleaning and maintenance in 2023 (weather and ocean conditions permitting) on the following dates:
