Beach lifeguards, patrol times and surf safety

Home of Cronulla Surf Lifesaving Club.

Often referred to as South Cronulla, Cronulla Beach is popular with families and is ideal for fish and chips at the beach.

Cronulla beach is the only beach that is patrolled in the winter months from 8.00am to 4.00pm (check for flags before swimming).

Cronulla Beach is wheelchair accessible, has disabled toilets and a free beach wheelchair service.

Dogs are prohibited on the beach. Behind the beach at Cronulla Park there is a large grassed area that forms a natural amphitheatre with plenty of shade trees and a playground.

There are many cafes and restaurants in the area.

Located on the foreshore are the Cronulla Ocean Pools, which are accessible via The Esplanade pedestrian walkway.

The ocean pools are not patrolled by lifeguards. The larger southern pool is most suitable for general swimming and lap swimming. The smaller northern pool is submerged at high tide and shallow at low tide and may not be suitable for use during these times. Please assess conditions at all times before using these ocean pools.
