We’re listening

We are committed to putting the community at the heart of everything we do.

Engagement activities provide an opportunity for dialogue between Council and the community, helping to educate and inform each other about priorities and challenges.

We recognise and value the diverse experience and knowledge of our community. We want to make the most of this to improve our service delivery, understand varying points of view, identify shared solutions, and build local partnerships and trust.

You can read more about how we value public consultation that is accessible, inclusive, timely and transparent in our Community Engagement Strategy - PDF - 8872 KB.

Get involved

There are many ways to get involved in the decisions of Council, including engaging with us in-person or online to share your feedback on current consultations via our Join the Conversation site, speaking at a Council meeting or participating in our Reference Groups, Working Parties and Panels.

These groups bring together Councillors, Council staff, community members, and other subject matter experts to collaborate and provide ongoing advice and feedback to help shape our strategies, plans, and policies. Reference Groups provide advice to Council to support the elected Council to make the final decisions.
