Federal Government Sports Grants

The Play Our Way program is designed to promote equitable access, build more suitable facilities, and support grassroot initiatives to engage women and girls in sport and physical activity throughout their lives.

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

The Telstra Footy Country Grants is designed to financially assist initiatives that can support Community Clubs affiliated to the AFL to strengthen the base and secure the future in three key strategic areas: Grow and assist volunteer capacity, Grow and diversify participation, Improve club environments and experiences.

Variety NSW/ACT promotes inclusivity for all Australian children. Schools and NFP organisations are invited to apply for a grant up to $10,000 to purchase equipment that will promote access and inclusivity in the community for children aged 0-18 years, living with financial disadvantage, geographic isolation and/or a disability or chronic illness.

Items that directly benefit children will be considered. We have provided examples below but feel free to contact us before completing an application to ensure the request is eligible.

Examples include:

  • Supplies, e.g. bubblers, garden supplies, library supplies, musical instruments etc
  • Equipment, e.g. play equipment, adaptive toys, sporting equipment, beach wheelchairs, canteen equipment etc
  • Technology: g.  Coding supplies, 3D printers, smart boards, hearing loops etc
  • Experiences, e.g. transport to school camp or group activity that would otherwise be unavailable

Local Government Sports Grants

ClubGRANTS is designed to ensure that larger clubs contribute to the provision of front-line services for their local communities; and to ensure that the disadvantaged in the community are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs.
