Playgrounds
With over 150 playground across Sutherland Shire you're sure to find a play space that the children love.
Gardens
Sutherland Shire features beautiful gardens to explore and enjoy year-round. We also have community gardens.

Skate parks
There are six skate parks in Sutherland Shire, with more on the way. Come and hang out.
Dog off-leash areas
There are a range of dog-friendly locations in Sutherland Shire for our community to enjoy with their four-legged friends. Find out where you can bring your dog.
Basketball
Enjoy Sutherland Shire’s great outdoors by shooting some hoops alone or with friends. Why not get a group together to play a casual game of basketball?
Outdoor gyms
Our outdoor gyms include sit-up benches, chin-up bars and balance beams. They cater for people of all ages and abilities.

Sutherland Shire has a range of picturesque walking tracks and fire trails.
Open spaces - planning for the future
With more than 20,000 hectares of open space across Sutherland Shire, we're recognising and responding to the changing recreational needs and priorities of our community and planning for our future.
Dharawal heritage and artefacts
We can all contribute to the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage. We can do this by respecting its presence in the landscape and striving to minimise our impacts.
