Henry Lawson Reserve Playground was comprehensively upgraded in 2020 with modern equipment for junior and senior play.  It includes a combination of organic and synthetic grass softfall, large bike/scooter track, seating, picnic settings and bubbler/drink station.  The reserve is partially fenced with ungated openings.

With its location situated in the heart of West Como on Wolger Road, grab a coffee or a bite to eat at the nearby shops and head to this great meeting space for families.  We have provided picnic tables for small gatherings such as a playdate after school as it is very close to Como West Primary School.  The playground provides a great interface for structured and natural play.  The wider grassed area at the rear of the reserve is ideal for ball games and unstructured play and exploring.

The play equipment includes separated play areas for senior and junior play.  Have fun on the basket swing, the overhead climbing equipment and fort, monkey bars, slide and climbing wall. There is a timber cubbyhouse for toddlers with many opportunities for role play with activity panels and shop front, and mulch digging.

Henry Lawson Reserve is a rest point along the 4.2 mm route of the Como Heritage and Environment Trail. An interpretive sign provides information about Henry Lawson, one of Australia’s finest writers, and his time in Como.    If you are feeling adventurous grab a map from our website and explore all that Como has to offer on the Heritage Trail.  This reserve is an ideal place to start and finish.
