Family Day Care is nurturing, safe and fun. With only four children in care in the Educator's own home, it mirrors the warmth and security of a family environment.

About Magda

I have been an early childhood educator for over 25 years, both overseas and here in Australia.

I began my career in preschools and kindergartens in South America. I moved to Australia in 2000, working as an educator and nanny whilst studying my early childhood degree.

Chiquitos Family Day Care began when my first son was born in 2006. I am now the proud mum of two boys after my second son was born in 2009.

About my service

Chiquitos Family Day Care offers small group, personalised care for children aged 20 months and above.

The children enjoy a secure, fun, caring, inclusive and comfortable environment. My educational philosophy is 'learning while playing'. Our program reflects the children’s interests, dispositions and strengths.

Family input is a strong and important feature of my service. Parents share their child's current interests for inclusion within our play-based learning program:

  • language and literacy
  • numeracy
  • science
  • arts and crafts
  • sustainability education and nature-based play
  • cooking
  • music, dance and culture and more.

I provide experiences and learning opportunities for each child's holistic development.

Our natural and sustainable environment features pets, veggie gardens and chickens.

Sharing music and cultural experiences with the children is a passion of mine. My Peruvian culture and Spanish language forms part of our engaging program.

We often venture to the local library and community-based events. Each term the children enjoy an incursion such as a puppet show or visit from a local dentist.

About my facilities

My service is near Woolooware train station. It is an easy location for parents travelling to work via train.

Outdoors, we enjoy a large level grassed yard. It's ideal for ball games, gardening, sand pit play, creative play and toy trikes. The space is safe, organised and includes planned activities as well as free time.

We make great use of a large covered patio for shade and enjoying meal times together.

Our indoor room is located off the patio and is used only for my Family Day Care service. Resources include books, puzzles, construction, home corner, toy kitchen, musical instruments and more.

The children explore their creativity through hands-on, practical play and activities.

Testimonials

“Chiquitos Family Day Care, being small, takes the time to understand the strengths of each child. Magda tailors the day to accommodate their development in many areas. Each child is treated as a unique individual. We have been lucky that both our girls have developed a special bond with Magda. I am very proud of my children and their development and behaviour. The time they spend in childcare has a significant impact on how they behave at home and around others."

"Magda is always looking for ways to go above and beyond for our kids. For these and many more reasons I recommend Magda's Family Day Care."

“Magda is great with all the kids, including my little one who has many complex food allergies. She communicates well with parents, providing a daily reflection and other relevant updates. My little girl runs in happily which makes it so much easier to leave her!"
