Frequently Asked Questions

The existing concrete platforms, headstocks, and timber landing platforms are due for replacement to ensure the structure remains sound and safe for our community to use.

This will help to improve accessibility and ensure the wharf continues to serve the community and ferry passengers.

Temporary arrangements will be in place to ensure ferries remain operational throughout the construction period.  The project has been planned to minimise disruption to ferry users and the community.

Our design completion is contingent upon receipt of the necessary authority approvals.  We are planning for the construction to start during the Winter of 2026, subject to these consents and weather permitting.

The new wharf and ramp will have fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) decking, which is more durable, low-maintenance, and resistant to marine conditions compared to traditional timber.
