Reviewing approval conditions and obtaining post-consent certificates

After development approval is granted, you should review the conditions of consent.

If your development involves building work, you will need a Construction Certificate and an Occupation Certificate.

To obtain these certificates, you need to nominate either Council or a private certifier as your Principal Certifier (PC).

You can apply for post-consent certificates on the NSW Planning Portal.

If you are dissatisfied with Council’s determination of your Development Application (DA), due to the conditions imposed or outright refusal, you can appeal to the Land and Environment Court.

If your development includes the removal of a tree or trees, you are required to replace them at a higher ratio.
