Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan (LEP)
Local Environmental Plans (LEPs) contain rules for development, such as land-use and building height.
They shape our communities and ensure development is carried out appropriately. Council reviews its LEPs at least every five years. Here is the current Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan.
Zoning specifies what land uses are permitted and if planning approval is required.
LEPs set objectives for each zone and determine permitted uses.
Changes to the LEPs are made through Planning Proposals.
