Commercial and industrial building alterations

Do I need approval?

You will not need approval for commercial or industrial alterations if they meet the relevant development standards for exempt development:

If the proposal doesn't qualify as exempt development, you may be able to apply for a Complying Development Certificate or a Development Application.

Can I apply for a Complying Development Certificate?

Complying Development Certificate may be issued for commercial or industrial building alterations if the proposal meets the relevant development standards.

You can use the NSW Commercial and Industrial Alterations Code to check whether your proposal is complying development.
