Artists and groups are invited annually to submit proposals for three-week exhibitions in the Broadhurst Gallery, a high-profile exhibition space within Hazelhurst Arts Centre. Centrally located and easily accessible to visitors, the gallery provides an ideal platform for artists to present new work, test ideas, and connect with engaged local audiences.
The purpose of the Broadhurst Gallery is to encourage, stimulate and promote local and regional cultural activity through an active and diverse exhibition program. By supporting a wide range of creative practices, from emerging artists and collectives to established practitioners and community organisations, the gallery plays a significant role in nurturing creativity and strengthening the cultural vitality of the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas.
The exhibition space features approximately 35 running metres of display walls. Artists may choose to use the full gallery or select a portion of the space to suit the scale and format of their work. The gallery is equipped with LED wash and spotlighting throughout, all of which can be repositioned along lighting tracks to complement each exhibition’s requirements.
Exhibitions run for a period of three weeks, which includes a 19-day exhibition window as well as one day for installation and one day for deinstallation. This structure supports a smooth exhibition turnaround while allowing artists generous time to present their work professionally.
Applications for the 2026 program closed on Friday 5 December, 2025 at 11.59pm.
