Council will provide a new public amenities building at Castelnau Reserve, Caringbah to meet our community's need at this popular playground site.
2 Castelnau Street Caringbah South
Project timeline
Project start: March 2023
Expected completion: September 2023
Reason for works
The Castelnau Street Reserve and especially the playground, is a very popular destination for families with young children. The site currently does not have a public toilet facility. We have listened to our community requests for a facility to be provided at this location.
Your consultation feedback to Council can be viewed here.
Scope of works
The new amenities will provide four toilets (male, female, unisex and accessible/family), a covered open washbasin area, water bubbler and bike racks. The scope of works involves:
- Site establishment
- Connections for services such as water, electricity and sewer.
- Building construction works.
- Minor Landscape works.
Project schedule
Site Establishment – March 2023
Practical Completion – September 2023
Public impacts during construction
Public access to the playground, open space, carpark and the scout hall in Castelnau Reserve will remain open during the works.
The building site will be fenced and closed to the public during construction.
There may be some inconvenience to parking and vehicle access as materials are delivered to the site.
We appreciate your patience during this important work.
