Cr Jack Boyd

Councillor Jack Boyd is currently serving his second term on Sutherland Shire Council, having first been elected in 2016.

Cr Boyd grew up in the Sutherland Shire, attending local primary and high schools before completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (International Economics) at the University of Wollongong. He completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Australian National University and was admitted as a solicitor at the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia. He is currently studying a Master of Laws at the Australian National University.

Cr Boyd is currently employed as a Senior Cyber Security Advisor and has previously worked in commercial law with a focus on Directors' and Officers' liability, Professional Indemnity and Cyber Risk Insurance.

As a passionate advocate for community engagement, Cr Boyd is committed to ensuring Council engages and involves the community in decision-making. He is eager to strengthen collaborative working relationships with other Councillors to ensure positive outcomes for the community.

With a keen interest in celebrating our community’s cultural diversity and interests, Cr Boyd is a passionate advocate for community events, the expansion of our night-time economy, and provision of recreation and entertainment for residents and visitors to enjoy.
