MEDIA RELEASE - Sutherland Shire Council Seeks Community Feedback on Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2025/29
Sutherland Shire Council is seeking community input on plans to enhance the quality of life across Sutherland Shire, with our new four-year Delivery Program and annual Operational Plan now on public exhibition.
The comprehensive documents outline what Council is committed to delivering over the next four years and have been shaped by both community and Councillor priorities.
Sutherland Shire Mayor, Councillor Jack Boyd, said Council is committed to delivering quality services and infrastructure on behalf of the community to further enhance the quality of life across Sutherland Shire and benefit the community into the future.
“These documents define our strategic priorities and detail a comprehensive range of strategies, projects, and initiatives that Council will deliver over the next four years to contribute to our long-term vision for Sutherland Shire,” Mayor Boyd said.
“The plan includes a clear breakdown of how rates are spent and focuses on enhancing the vibrancy and functionality of our town centres, developing and maintaining high-quality sport and leisure facilities, addressing traffic congestion and improving parking solutions, managing sustainable housing and development projects, and protecting and improving our waterways and stormwater systems.
“Key highlights over the next year include commencing the roll out of a combined food organics and garden organics waste service for Sutherland Shire, which represents the biggest change to domestic waste management in a generation, completing our Cronulla Town Centre Stage two upgrade, continuing our transformation of Seymour Shaw Park in Miranda, upgrades to Heathcote Oval and Engadine Leisure Centre, and a new park for Caringbah Town Centre.
“This is just a snapshot of what is planned, with many more exciting projects and initiatives in the pipeline to look forward to.”
In addition to the main plan, several important resourcing strategies will also be exhibited, including the Workforce Strategy, Asset Management Strategy, Long Term Financial Plan and Information Technology Strategy.
Community members are invited to share their thoughts and feedback from 30 April to 28 May 2025 by taking the survey or filling in a quick poll on Council's website.
