MEDIA RELEASE - Treat your-shelf at Council’s Annual Library Book Sale
Local reading enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice at the Sutherland Shire Annual Library Book Sale, as Council staff readily prepare for the two-day event to be held mid this month, setting aside thousands of items for perusal and purchase.
With an impressive and extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs and items for all ages, Sutherland Shire Mayor, Councillor Carmelo Pesce is marking this year’s event as one not to be missed.
“The widely anticipated Annual Library Book Sale is back once again, and this year we have even more exciting items on offer for people of all ages and interests,” Mayor Pesce said.
“It’s always exciting to see crowds of keen readers and collectors from across the region drawn to Sutherland for this event, and find many items to cherish within a new home.
“Our local library services are deeply appreciated among our community, with residents always eager to discover a new author, delve into chapters of history, develop a new skill or broaden their interests.
“The Annual Library Book Sale offers everyone the opportunity to explore many of the joys that our local libraries provide, and continue enjoying them from the comfort of their own home for life – and all for a great price.”
The 2022 sale will return to its home of Sutherland Library and once again be held over two days – on Saturday 14 May from 9am to 3.30pm and Sunday 15 May from 11am to 4.30pm.
“It’s a very popular event, with lots of items to discover and collect, so I encourage everyone not to miss out on this once a year event,” Mayor Pesce said.
“By rehoming some of the items available at the sale, residents can contribute to supporting our community libraries to continue providing the programs and services we all know and love.”
Payments will be accepted by EFTPOS only. Residents are encouraged to bring carry bags or small trolleys on the day.
