Why compost?

More than half of residential garbage can be composted. Instead of contributing to methane gas emissions in landfill, this material can become a valuable soil conditioner and replenish the nutrients in your garden.

If managed efficiently, useable compost can be created in a few months. (Lower maintenance composting method can take 6-12 months). Insects and other critters in your compost help to break down the material and often play a vital role in your garden.

If you are interested in learning more and setting up your own compost bin or worm farm, this workshop will show you just how easy it can be.
