What is an Exempt Development?
Exempt Development may include decks, garden sheds, carports, fences, repairing a window or painting a house.
To be considered an Exempt Development, all the specified standards must be met. More information is available at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

You must ensure your project meets the relevant development standards required by state legislation.
