Reason for works

This project will improve the foreshore infrastructure and boost the experience for recreational boating on this beautiful waterway.

The extension of the boat ramp will achieve the ideal grade for launching and retrieving water craft and a new floating pontoon incorporating a kayak launching platform will provide a separation for large and small craft.

Scope of works

The scope of works involves:

  • Demolition of the existing boat ramp facility;
  • Construction of boat ramp extension;
  • Construction of foreshore area;
  • Repair of existing seawall; and
  • Dredging works.

Detailed Design – June-July 2022 (complete)

Site Establishment – September 2022

Practical Completion – December 2022

Public impacts during construction

The site area will be closed for public use during the construction period.

There may be an increase in dust and noise from time to time, as we upgrade these facilities.

Access to the non-works portion of St George Crescent will be made available during the works.

Funding

This project is jointly funded by Transport for NSW from their Boating Now Program and Council.
