Family Day Care is nurturing, safe and fun. With only four children in care in the Educator's own home, it mirrors the warmth and security of a family environment.

About Renata

My early education and care career began more than 20 years ago with the opening of my service, Renata's Family Day Care.

A nurturer at heart, I was steered towards the early childhood profession by sheer chance and an unexpected life encounter.

I believe I am fulfilling my life’s purpose in offering a quality childcare service for local families. With every passing year, my love for my job strengthens. It is forever changing and always inspiring.

Many children, families and friends have joined Renata’s FDC over the past 20 plus years, contributing to the award-winning education & care service you see today.

On a personal note, I am the proud mum to my four adult children.

About my service

My service encourages creative and independent thinking among the children. It builds their self-confidence as we explore the many possibilities of childhood.

We respect and value every child’s voice and presence.

I follow an interest-based play curriculum, which I believe is the most effective form of learning. We focus on quality outcomes for all children daily. These are based on the Early Years Learning Framework and guided by the National Quality Standards.

I place a genuine importance on sustainability, the outdoors and natural learning resources. Each offers endless benefits to children's growth and development.

We respect our planet and encourage recycling at every opportunity.

We embrace ‘risk’ in play to strengthen the children’s ability to self-assess as they encounter future risks in life.

We are active community members. The children enjoy our weekly outings and community connections.

We collaborate with the children and their families on our evolving curriculum.

We create a confident and inclusive environment where the children are free to flourish. We are here to encourage and support true success within every child that joins Renata's Family Day Care.

About my facilities

My service is located in the heart of Sylvania. It is a 3-minute walk from Southgate Shopping Centre, the Princes Highway and Port Hacking Road.

The Family Day Care space is purpose-built and separate to my home environment.

Learning spaces are created specifically for curious young minds. It is open plan to encourage both indoor and outdoor play-based learning.

Indoors

Seven key learning areas are set up at all times. There is something to stimulate all ages. Resources change as the children’s interests expand.

Independent learning is encouraged by an environment set up as the 'third teacher'. All resources are age appropriate and independently accessible by the children.

Much pride and thought goes into the learning centres, designed to instil a natural intrigue and love for learning from a very young age.

Outdoors

Our safe and enclosed outdoor area includes:

  • community garden
  • slippery slide
  • ride on cars and trikes
  • cubby house
  • sand pit/quarry
  • climbing equipment
  • mud kitchen
  • outdoor nature classroom
  • edible bush tucker garden
  • space to run

Sleep Room

A separate sleep room provides babies and very young children with uninterrupted sleep. Older children use stretcher beds for daily sleep and rest times.

Toileting

A purpose-built toileting area includes a kinder toilet, adult toilet and potty. Nearby is our nappy change area. There are also lockers for parents who prefer to bring in nappies and wipes in bulk.

Kitchen

A kitchen on the premises allows for hot and cold foods to be served.

Testimonials

“It doesn't get better than Renata. I purposely waited until she had a vacancy to put my second child in care. She is loving, dynamic and you can tell she loves her job, which means the kids LOVE her."

“The care, creativity and love Renata has for not only my child, but the other children in care is beyond what you would expect. My son comes home with a massive smile on his face. As soon as we arrive he wants to be put down so he can play or give Renata a cuddle. I love the photos and updates we get along the way."

"Renata’s service is calm and nurturing and everyone is treated with dignity. When my baby started care, Renata went above and beyond to educate herself about my daughter’s allergy. Nothing was too much trouble.”
