Family Day Care is nurturing, safe and fun. With only four children in care in the Educator's own home, it mirrors the warmth and security of a family environment.

About Rhonda

As a young adult I very much wanted to work with young children. I began working as a casual in early childhood at age 21. My love of the profession continued as I undertook formal qualifications.

I worked in Early Education Centres and After School Care services for five years, taking on leadership roles and working as second in charge (2IC).

I have so much fun and love this industry. It is rewarding to experience the joy of working with young children and watching them grow each day.

My career paused for a few years when I had my own beautiful children.

Starting my own Family Day Care has been a wonderful professional journey. Each day is exciting. I enjoy collaborating with families about their child's learning and development.

My service has been operating in Sutherland Shire for over four years. During this time I have provided high quality education and care to many local families. Many families return to my service when siblings come along.

Parents have comfort knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment. Our small group enjoys their days together full of fun and learning.

About my service

My philosophy is to ensure the children are safe, happy and engaged in a fun play-based learning environment.

I work with families to ensure the children's needs are met each day. Communication is a major part of my service. Parents are welcome to call or text to find out how their child is going.

Each day the children experience activities to support their fine and gross motor skills, cognitive development, literacy skills and social and emotional development.

The children learn through a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, story time, singing, sports, yoga, cooking and more.

Our learning program changes each week to meet the children's interest and needs.

About my facilities

My service is located in a quiet street in Miranda. We are within walking distance to Miranda train station and Westfield Miranda. There is ample safe parking for drop off and pick up.

Our Family Day Care space is for this purpose only. Given its exclusive use, it is a special area belonging to the children and is safe for them to enjoy. Parents enter through the main entrance of the house leading to a foyer area and our day care.

We have an additional space for quiet reading and a children's sleep area. Cots and sleep mattresses are available.

Indoors, we have many activities and resources to support children’s learning.

The outdoors features a grassed yard and covered alfresco area. The children enjoy our sandpit, cubby house, roller coaster, climbing and sports equipment.

Building a sustainable environment is a focus at Rhonda’s Family Day Care, so you will see lots of veggies and herbs growing in our yard, which the children pick and use in their cooking experiences.
