Award winning cloth nappy service!

Local parents who are big supporters of a free cloth nappy service in Council’s 11 Early Education Centres have helped us win a major award.

Sutherland Shire Council is a joint winner of the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW ‘Waste Less Recycle More Waste Minimisation Award’, sponsored by NSW Environment Protection Authority.

Our free cloth nappy service has meant an estimated 85 tonnes of nappies were diverted from landfill over the past five years alone – that’s a huge win for the environment! It’s also just one of many sustainable practices our early childhood centres have introduced to minimise our environmental footprint.
