Council is proud to support Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation in hosting NAIDOC Week Celebrations in Gunnamatta Park and Hall at Cronulla tomorrow. The theme for this year’s NAIDOC Week is “Voice. Treaty. Truth.” and we invite you to come along to this free community event that celebrates working together for a shared future. Together we will be celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with a variety of FREE fun activities for the kids ranging from arts & crafts, face painting and a jumping castle. Emergency Services vehicles and vessels will also be on display, as well as kids cultural dance workshops, basket weaving, yarn circles, interactive sea and bug animal display and so much more! There will also be a gold coin donation morning tea and BBQ lunch and a special live performance by Evie J Willie and the Col Hardy Band. NAIDOC Week is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by all Australians and we are proud to bring the community together for this event, so come along with your family and friends for a great day out during the school holidays.
