Our new community park at Kirrawee is in need of a name, so if you’ve had a chance to visit and thought of a great suggestion, there’s still time to enter our naming competition. Since the park officially opened last month we have received hundreds of great entries with some really creative ideas. This is your park and we want you to be part of its future.

When naming significant places across our local government area we have to follow specific criteria set by the Geographical Names Board of NSW. This just means the suggestions need to fit into one of three categories; Kirrawee’s natural features, Sutherland Shire’s history or our Aboriginal heritage. The top three suggestions will receive a prize then the public will vote on their favourite name. To enter go to our Join The Conversation page and fill out an entry form. Entries close on Monday 23 December.
