MAYOR'S MESSAGE - HOUSEHOLD CHEMICAL CLEAN-UP AND E-WASTE COLLECTION

Published On 06 February 2020 at 09:30 AM

Is looking after our environment important to you? Do you have household chemicals or electronic waste that you’re not sure how to responsibly dispose of? Come down to one of Council’s free waste collection events and help create a sustainable future through recycling and reducing waste. We have free Household Chemical Clean Out events on Saturday 8, Sunday 9 and Monday 10 February at Bellingara Netball Centre Car Park in Miranda, where you can drop off items like paint, pool chemicals and pesticides. In March we will also be hosting two free E-Waste Collection days at the same location in Miranda, set for Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March, to dispose of things like old computers, TVs and electronic games. I encourage residents to take advantage of these events, ensuring you dispose of materials the right way and help to reduce the number of items that end up in landfill. Recycling is important to achieve a sustainable future so seize the opportunity to be waste wise. Visit sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Residents/Waste-and-Recycling for a full list of materials that are accepted and if you can’t make one of our scheduled events, you’ll also find information about alternative ways to dispose of your household and e-waste.
