MAYOR'S MESSAGE - Add household chemicals to your Spring cleaning list

Published On 09 September 2020 at 12:00 PM

As residents of the Sutherland Shire we all appreciate the importance of doing our part to protect our beautiful natural environment. That’s why Council is again supporting local residents to responsibly dispose of their unwanted household chemicals as part of our regular Household Chemical CleanOuts. This free service will be available on Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 September, 2020 from 9:00am to 3:30pm at Bellingara netball carpark, Miranda. It’s a great way to kick start your spring cleaning efforts and support a more sustainable future for our community by saving a range of household chemical waste from ending up in landfill. You’ll be pleased to know that an array of chemical items can be properly disposed of through our Household Chemical CleanOut, with paint, pesticides, all car and household batteries, motor oils and fuel, gas bottles and pool chemicals just some of the items accepted. I encourage all local residents to take advantage of this initiative and Council’s other recycling programs, with a full list of permitted chemical items and additional key household waste management information available via sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Residents/Waste-and-Recycling
