September 2020 - Amendments have been made to the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 to extend the period of existing COVID-19 pandemic meeting arrangements, including social distancing measures, as below, until 25 March 2021. Council Chambers Gallery capacity remains at 10 members of the public.

The health and wellbeing of our community is of utmost importance and Council is closely monitoring the advice and adhering to the directives of public health agencies on Coronavirus (COVID 19). The latest information is available on our website here.
With effect from 29 January 2021, consistent with current directions related to social distancing and COVIDSafe guidance, for the safety of our community, our Councillors and staff, we have implemented the following revised safety measures for all Council and Standing Committee Meetings:
Social distancing measures in Chambers
Chambers configuration has been temporarily changed to accommodate required social distancing measures and in particular the 4m2 per 1 person and 1.5m social distancing rules remain in place and are being used to guide public gallery numbers.
Public Gallery
We are permitting a maximum of ten members of the public to attend the meeting in Council Chambers as part of the public gallery. Any/all Public Forum registered speakers will attend Chambers to address Council with attendance by other members of the public managed on a first come, first served basis. Following social distancing measures, limited additional capacity (maximum 35 persons) will also be available for members of the public to listen to the meeting in the Customer Service Foyer on the ground floor of Council’s Administration Building.
Public Forum
If you wish to speak at a Public Forum, applicants must meet one of the Eligibility Criteria, as specified in the Public Forum Policy and agree to abide by the conditions of this policy, together with Council’s Code of Meeting Practice .To register to address Council about an item on the Council Meeting Business Paper, please submit the Public Forum Application Form no later than 5pm on the Friday prior to the meeting.
Remote meeting attendance facilities available for Councillors and Staff
We continue to make available remote meeting attendance technology for all Councillors and staff.
Meeting webcasts
In accordance with Council’s Code of Meeting Practice, Council continues to webcast sound recordings of all Council and Council Standing Committee meetings. Webcasts are published to Council’s website by no later than 1pm the next business day following the meeting.
