The Natural Order
Collection of works
Found objects, air-dry clay, pressed leaves, pins, beads, paper
Often we lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us in nature. My work celebrates the intricacy of form and aesthetic, the abstract patterns of nature found beneath the surface of biological forms. I referenced the work of Angela Valamanesh and Shona Wilson to create a series of invented white organisms that are in various states of being. The presentation in the form of a case of curiosities is reminiscent of a museum display and conjures up images of past relics, allowing the viewer to construct their own theories on the origin of these abstract cellular creations.
