Pain and Rapture
Pencil and coloured pencil on Stonehenge paper
My work uses a fantasy surrealist setting to explore concepts of growing up, the trials teenagers face and the adversaries they may have to battle. The concept is very close to me as the trials and the opponents tackled by the four main teenagers in the artwork are inspired by real life adversaries that I, and people that were around me at the time, encountered. I worked with pencils and markers to make it very colourful and lively. The artwork also explores the romantic relationships between the teenagers and how those relationships help them through their battle.
