White and porcelain clay, copper oxide
The natural world is one of complexity, constantly changing through growth and decay, and filled with diversity and beauty in its many textures and forms. Clay relates to nature on many levels. Made of earth itself, it can be both strong and fragile. My series of vases explores the complexity of nature, using the microcosm of natural textures within the forest and the macrocosm of the wider landscape. My work, Eulogy, captures the delicate elements, surfaces and textures of nature, paying tribute to its beauty, complexity and fragility and giving a sense of timelessness amidst the constantly changing landscape.
