ClubGRANTS Category 1

ClubGRANTS is an initiative of the NSW Government and ClubsNSW to provide funding for community development projects and services that have a direct impact on the Sutherland Shire community.

In 2019, the Sutherland Shire Local ClubGRANTS Committee distributed almost $225,000 to local organisations for projects such as mental health programs, youth engagement programs, carer support programs and disability programs.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for ClubGRANTS category 1 funding you must provide the following projects / or community services:

  • community welfare or social services
  • community development
  • community health services
  • employment assistance activities 

You are also eligible if you or your organisation is involved in community or professional sport.

Only projects which directly benefit residents of Sutherland Shire will be considered.

2019 Funding Priorities

  • Programs that target the problematic use of alcohol and other drugs
  • Women and children escaping domestic violence
  • Youth engagement
  • Programs providing support for people who are socially isolated and / or experiencing financial crisis
  • Disability Services (including mental health projects)
  • Services for older people, including Veteran Welfare Services


    How to apply

    Category 1 ClubGRANTS applications are to be submitted online via the ClubGRANTS portal. Only online applications will be accepted.

     A copy of the 2017/2018 application form can be view here. Do not complete and submit this form.



    Organisations that received 2018 ClubGRANTS funding must submit a Standard Funding Report or Progress Report ahead of the 2019 grant round opening. Further applications will not be considered until the report has been received

    Information Sessions

    Sutherland Shire Council will host a ClubGRANTS information session on 

    Date: Thursday 21 March 2019
    Time: 10:00am - 12pm
    Location: Council Admin Building, 4 Eton Street Sutherland

    The session will provide advice about the 2019 ClubGRANTS program and application process. Bookings close Friday 15 March 2019.
