Note: Please ensure mattresses, metals & household rubbish are separated (different collection vehicles will be sent to collect these items so they can be recycled) & placed on kerbside no sooner than the day prior to collection.


Sutherland Shire Council is required to comply with the information protection principles in the Privacy and Personal Information Act 1998 (PPIP Act). These principles regulate the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information held by government agencies. Generally, any personal information you provide to Council will only be used and/or disclosed for the Council's purposes, or a directly related purpose, unless you consent to another use or disclosure, in emergencies or as otherwise required or authorised by law.

Terms and Conditions

  • The unit complex shall be entitled to, up to a maximum of two booked on-property collection services per financial year. To cater for the agreed collection capacity for that collection service.
  • The unit complex shall be entitled to the maximum volumetric collection capacity each financial year (4 cubic metres per unit). In the event the Contractor is unable to provide the maximum volume entitlement in a single collection day, then the complex shall be entitled to book further collection days as required to provide up to the maximum collection capacity.
  • The unit complex Authorised agent/Strate Manager/Body Corporate or DoH Officer will work cooperatively with Council's Cleanup Collection Contractor to agree on the collection service. ie collection dates and collection point(s) at a unit complex where required.
  • The Property Owner and/or Authorising Officer/Representative agrees, regardless of any negligence, breach of contract or breach of statute on the part of Sutherland Shire Council to release and indemnify Sutherland Shire Council against all liabilities, claims, damages, losses, costs and expenses of whatever nature, except that caused by direct impact of vehicles with the property owner and/or body corporate's property, which may accrue against or be suffered by Sutherland Shire Council, arising out of or in any way connected with the agreement.
  • The Authorised agent/Strata Manager/Body Corporate or DoH Officer shall be fully responsible for the management of, and to cover any costs or expenses associated with, the proper disposal of all non-acceptable materials & excessive materials above that authorised by Council that may be presented by the complex residents and not collected by the Council's Contractor.
  • The Authorised agent/Strata Manager/Body Corporate or DoH Officer shall be responsible to advise occupants of the property of the agreed collection day dates and to post in a prominent position on common property detailing the service to the property dwellings and occupants.
  • The Authorised agent/Strata Manager/Body Corporate or DoH Officer shall not allow any persons or organisations that are not a domestic or residential occupant of a dwelling to utilise the cleanup services provided. Commercial businesses shall not be permitted access to the service.
  • Any commercial arrangement between Council's Contractor and the Authorised agent/Strata Manager/Body Corporate or DoH Officer shall remain commercial arrangements between those parties. At no time shall Council become liable for costs associated with any commercial arrangements made by the Property Owner and/or Authorised Agent/Representative and the Contractor.
