Bring the family down for a great 5km cycle ride from Shorebird Reserve to Wanda Beach.

The supervised course along off-road paths is easily managed by all ages.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist at crossing points and will help young riders collect progress stamps along the way.

Times

  • Free registration 10.00am - 12.00pm
  • Course open 10.00am - 1.00pm
  • Activities completed at 2.00pm.

Event details

Riders need to bring their own bikes, in good roadworthy condition (including bell).

All riders MUST WEAR a helmet.

Location and registration

Riders will need to register at Shorebird Reserve, Taren Point.

Riders can enter the Reserve from the corner of Smith St and Alexander Avenue - on street-parking is available

Free bike safety checks will be available at the start,  courtesy of Endeavour Cycles.

The course ends at Lucas Reserve, Mitchell Road, Wanda Beach.  

For convenience, you can complete the 2018 Bike to the Beach Registration Form and bring it along on the day.

The cycle route and map

The ride commences at Shorebird Reserve, Taren Point. Cyclists ride east along the cycle path on the foreshore to Solander playing fields.  Riders then continue along the path, crossing Captain Cook Drive at the signalled crossing, and then riding east along the cycle path adjacent Captain Cook Drive.

Riders continue along path, crossing at Woolooware Rd and Elouera Rd.  Riders then will turn right on the footpath at Elouera Rd, then turn left onto Bate Bay Rd heading east.  At the top of the hill, the path will join the Lucas Reserve bike track and the ride concludes at the bottom of the hill.
