An extensive park with 14 acres of land, and just a short walk from Cronulla train station. Gunnamatta Bay is perfect for parents with toddlers. It has large grassed areas, shade trees, a playground and a netted tidal bath. This beautiful beach is within an estuary, and as such there are no waves in the enclosed swimming area. The tidal baths are not patrolled by lifeguards and dogs are prohibited in the swimming baths.
The park also features shelter sheds, disabled toilet and open air amphitheatre. To hold a ceremony or have related photography at the park you must contact Council to make a booking.
Barbecues and shelters are available on a first come first served basis. There is a hot coal bin (please view map for location) for the safe disposal of hot coals from portable coal barbecues.
Booking the Park
Gunnamatta Park has 2 areas: North and south. When making booking enquiries, please specify which area you are interested in.
