Stormwater Management Plans

Council has developed catchment specific Stormwater Management Plans (SMP) for following rivers within the Shire.

Lower Georges River Stormwater Management Plan - a plan to improve the management of stormwater within the Georges River Catchment.

Woronora River Stormwater Management Plan - a plan to improve the management of stormwater within the Woronora River Catchment.

Hacking River Stormwater Managment Plan - a plan to improve the management of stormwater within the Hacking River Catchment.

The overall objective of the plans is to facilitate the coordinated management of stormwater within the catchment to improve the health and quality of the waterways. The Stormwater Management Plans cover the following:

  • Catchment description
  • Existing catchment conditions
  • Waterway & catchment values
  • Stormwater management objectives & issues
  • Evaluation and analysis of stormwater management options
  • Strategy for implementation of the SMP
  • Water quality monitoring and modelling

The Stormwater Management Plans were prepared in close coordination with RTA, Rail Access Corporation, Sydney Water, representatives of the NSW State Government organisations and local community.
