The Sutherland Shire is lucky to have many generous volunteers who give their time and expertise to help others in the community.  Any person wishing to contribute to the local community is welcome to volunteer, regardless of where they live.

Registration in a council run volunteer program

To safeguard both the individual and council, it is necessary for all new volunteers to be formally registered before participating in a volunteer program. Volunteer Program Coordinators will deliver an induction and training program as well as provide support for all volunteers.

Volunteer Program Coordinators have the right to refuse the services of volunteer applications if their skills do not match those required for the task.
