Hall Management

Sutherland Shire Council operates approximately 40 community halls in local areas. Approximately two thirds of these are managed by staff, but where possible a committee of local residents and citizens manages the hall in their suburb.

Volunteering for hall management requires a high degree of responsibility as the committee oversees the maintenance of the hall, encourages prospective hirers as well as liaising with regular and casual hirers. Volunteers can be elected to be an office bearer on the Hall Management Committee, which must meet every quarter to discuss any management issues, and formalise decisions in regard hall management.
