Council Clean-up
Council’s biannual clean-up is not cancelled.
If you have a clean-up scheduled for your street, it is business as usual. Click here for more information, or visit the council's Facebook page where you may post your comments.
When are my clean-up dates?
Upon submitting your address, Shire Maps will open. Accept the terms and conditions, and your property will be highlighted with the rubbish collection details displayed.
Not working? Ensure the address is correct and flash is installed.
Report:a missed clean-up service
Where to place your clean-up material
To help us collect your clean-up material, place it on the outer edge of the footpath in front of your property as close as practical to the side of your driveway or at the designated point of collection by 5.00am the morning of your collection, but not prior to the Saturday before.
If your council clean up was missed by our drivers please report it on the rubbish reporting form.
IMPORTANT: If you have been away or forgotten your clean up date you will need to either remove the material yourself (check out Council's recycling directory for disposal options) , arrange for a private contractor to collect your material or alternatively wait until your next clean up date in 6 months time.
To aid our collection please:
- do not place your material under trees, low power lines or other overhead obstructions
- do not place your clean-up material in the gutter - it may end up in our stormwater system and in our waterways.
- avoid parking vehicles in front of clean-up material
All materials go to Lucas Heights Waste Management and Recycling Centre (SITA) where they are sorted for recycling. Mattresses are collected separately by Dreamsafe for recycling.
When disposing of items at council clean-ups, you should:
- ensure that any items you don’t want included in the clean-up are not visible from the kerbside to avoid having them accidentally taken by collectors or stolen by opportunistic criminals
- avoid placing the packaging of new purchases in your clean up pile as this advertises the contents of your home to passers by
- be aware of individuals inspecting your property on the pretence of collecting items from the clean-up.
