Reason for works

Relocation of the maintenance depot at Don Lucas Reserve to a new centrally located facility to service the Greenhills Parklands area and playing fields.

Scope of works

Temporary relocation of existing operations and decommissioning of site.

Project schedule

Feb 2016 - Works start date.

May 2016 - Decommissioning and relocation of operations from the site.  Completed.

July 2016 - Site works to match soil levels to the surrounding profile. Completed.

Aug 2016 - Shared pathway - brought forward to be constructed as part of the immediate works. Completed.

Nov 2016 - Turf reclaimed area to (return to Don Lucas Reserve to public open space).  Completed.

Dec 2016 - Works complete (Don Lucas Reserve).  Completed.

Stage 2 - Approvals from Office of Heritage and Environment and Crown Lands - NSW Trade & Investment, to allow a Development Application.

Stage 2 - Construction of new Maintenance Facility at Greenhill’s Park and relocation of operations to their new facility.

Stage 2 - Late 2017 Forecast end date: subject to completion of land form at Greenhill’s by third party.

Public impacts during construction

An area of Don Lucas Reserve will be fenced off during which time the area will be filled with soil to match the surrounding profile. The increased area will then be re turfed and returned for use as public open space.

We understand this work may impact on users within the Reserve and nearby residents.  We appreciate your patience and understanding whilst we complete these works.


This project is funded by Council using General Revenue and third party developer contributions.
