During these unprecedented times, Council has had to make some tough decisions to temporarily close services and that has had an impact on both our community and our staff. However, it is critical that we implement necessary actions to help stem the spread of Coronavirus in our community that also aligns to the advice and directives from lead public health agencies.

Following an announcement by the Australian Government on 22 March 2020 and as part of Sutherland Shire Council’s Pandemic Response Plan, a number of Council Services will be temporarily closed from 12 noon today (Monday 23 March) until further notice is provided from lead public health agencies.

Sutherland Shire Council is continuing to pursue innovative ways to make best use of the water we’ve got. We are currently one of the only Councils that operates a water recycling plant, with our Cronulla-Woolooware Wastewater Reuse Scheme capable of recycling up to 4 million litres of water a day.
