This Friday, I will be heading to GU Filmhouse at Cronulla for the Seniors in Shorts Short-Film Festival, which is a celebration of our wonderful senior citizens here in Sutherland Shire. The film festival coincides with International Day for Older People earlier this week and will feature the Young@Heart film, developed by Sutherland Shire Council. Our film showcases 15 inspirational local seniors and will be one of several featured on the day, including Fearless Films by Feros Care and a compilation of short-films from Flickerfest. We have a lot of very active senior residents including our local Seniors Reference Group (pictured), who are a great example of seniors living life to the fullest and proving they are young at heart. With 23 per cent of Sutherland Shire residents aged over 60 years, this is a great opportunity to acknowledge the important contribution they make to our community. So, come along and join the fun of the Seniors in Shorts Film Festival – go online to book your ticket before they run out!
