MAYOR'S MESSAGE - Green thumbs up for ‘Greenweb’ grants

Published On 19 August 2020 at 12:00 PM

Among the many features which make the Sutherland Shire such an incredible place to live is our beautiful bushland surroundings and the vital role local residents play in its preservation. That’s why Council is pleased to once again deliver financial support to further encourage local green thumbs to play a part in enhancing our environment through our ‘Greenweb’ grants program. As part of this program, Council is inviting private property owners to apply for funding for projects aimed at preserving the long term sustainability of our natural environment. Council has ten grants available, each worth up to $2,000, for the purpose of regeneration of bushland and reintroduction of local native plants, habitat creation and removal of invasive bushland weeds. By supporting these works, we hope to ensure that our spectacular bushland remains a cherished feature of the Sutherland Shire for generations to come! Applications are open until 31 August 2020.
