MAYOR'S MESSAGE - Council Adopts Operational Plan 2020/21

Published On 16 July 2020 at 12:00 PM

Council has adopted the Operational Plan 2020/21 including Revenue Policy, Budget, Capital Program and Fees and Charges, completing the fourth year of the recently extended five-year Delivery Program 2017 – 2022. Our record $55 million Capital Works Program features the Sutherland Entertainment Centre refurbishment project, our Sports Fields Renewal program and a $19 million commitment to transport infrastructure projects. We’ll also be renewing assets such as roads, footpaths, parks and drainage, while delivering all existing services and service levels to residents over the next 12 months. Our budget also incorporates relief for businesses in the wake of COVID-19, including the waiving of fees and charges related to regulatory activity and a reduction of the Cronulla CBD Special Rate by 50%. We’re committed to creating a liveable place with a high quality of life for our residents, as well as ensuring the long, medium and short-term aspirations, priorities and needs of community are identified, and appropriate strategies are developed and implemented to respond to those needs. Further plans that will support the future of our community include the Waste Management Strategy, the Community Development Strategy, and the Integrated Transport Strategy and Plan.
