MAYOR'S MESSAGE - CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Published On 02 April 2020 at 02:00 PM

During these unprecedented times, Council has had to make some tough decisions to temporarily close services and that has had an impact on both our community and our staff. However, it is critical that we implement necessary actions to help stem the spread of Coronavirus in our community that also aligns to the advice and directives from lead public health agencies. We understand the impacts have been, and will continue to be, felt by many, but this is about Council prioritising the health and safety of our entire community. We each have a part to play in staying up to date with the latest advice from lead agencies and following necessary and mandatory precautionary measures and Council will continue to work through support measures to assist our residents and local businesses during this time. One small but important initiative we’ve introduced is our ‘Community Care’ cards. These cards have been designed to help community members connect and stay in touch with their neighbours and those most vulnerable as we contend with extended periods of isolation, and physical distancing measures. Simply fill it out, leave a message of support and pop it in your neighbour’s letter box, and don’t forget to stay safe and healthy! The printable cards are available via our website; sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/communityhelp
