Rates Payment Methods

Did you know you can receive your Council rates electronically?

Council issues quarterly instalment notices by mail. Payment is due on the following dates each year

  • 31 August
  • 30 November
  • 28 February
  • 31 May

Please note interest charges may be payable if your instalment is not paid by the due date.  Lump sum payments can also be made but must be made by 31 August to avoid interest charges.

Online credit card payments

Pay online with BPoint using Visa or MasterCard (0.45% merchant surcharge fee) or American Express (1.00% merchant surcharge fee).

Pay Rates with Credit Card

Phone with credit card

Pay over the phone on 1300 886 435 with Visa or MasterCard (0.45% merchant surcharge fee) or American Express (1.00% merchant surcharge fee).

BPAY

Pay from your cheque or savings account  (no credit cards) via your financial institution using the biller code 1693 and the reference number on your rates notice.

BPAY View

Stop the paper!  BPay View allows you to receive, pay and store rates notices in your online banking.

Direct Debit

Complete a direct debit request form to have your rates payments automatically debited from your nominated bank account. You will still be sent installment notices to remind you when payment is to be taken from your account.

Print out and complete the direct debit request form and return via:

  • Email to ssc@ssc.nsw.gov.au
  • Fax to 9710 0265
  • Post to Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499
  • In person at 4 Eton Street, Sutherland, NSW

By mail

Mail payments are by cheque only. To be submitted with the bottom of your rates notice. Send cheques payable to Sutherland Shire Council to Locked Bag 17, Sutherland NSW 1499.

In person

Customer Service Counter

Pay your rates at 4 Eton Street, Sutherland, NSW. Accepted payment methods are:

  • credit card
  • cash
  • eftpos
  • cheque (made to Sutherland Shire Council)

Post Office

Take your rates notice to the post office. Credit cards are not accepted.
