The first ever Sutherland Shire 'Walk the Walls' - Street Art Festival was held from 2 to 4 March, 2018.

We invite the Sutherland Shire community to cruise on down to Caringbah, walk the street art trail and view the large-scale murals that have brought colour to the streets of Caringbah.

The event was three huge days of creativity; live street art/mural painting, stacks of live music, free workshops, and awesome food stalls/trucks

30+ visual artists were involved, including Phibs, Mulga, Ox King, Peque, Georgia Hill and many more, and they painted up a storm in one of the largest street art projects in Sydney.  The artists painted 1,500 square metres of walls in Caringbah as part of a large crime prevention program to stop graffiti and vandalism and as a way to revitalise open spaces in Sutherland Shire.

Walk the Walls was curated by Phibs a notable street artist and is a joint project between the NSW Department of Justice and Sutherland Shire Council.

Streets where artists have painted large-scale murals in Caringbah: Corner of Denman Avenue and the Kingsway; 344R Kingsway; 346A Kingsway;  Park Lane, rear of  324-340 Kingsway;  Park Lane, rear of 4-8 Park Lane; 9 - 13 President Avenue and Hay Avenue.

Hazelhurst Art Centre supported this festival with its own Walk the Walls exhibition to coincide with the festival.
