10am Citizenship Ceremony

12.15pm to 9pm entertainment. Fireworks at 9pm.

Watch The Greatest Showman on the big screen, followed by Miranda and Engadine Musical Societies, DJ Jazzy, Australian Trilogy, Christine Anu, Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc),  and Mark Vincent.

MENAI DISTRICT - BLAXLAND OVAL, ILLAWONG
4pm to 9pm live music, food and children’s activities. Fireworks at 9pm.

Join ANSTO’s Science Shows, Endless Summer Beach Party, The Coldplay Show, DJ Jazzy, and Australian Trilogy.

SHIRE VIBES 27 JANUARY

Shire Vibes is the most relaxed event of the year. Bring a rug and picnic basket and enjoy an intimate and relaxed time on one of the best beaches in the world, Cronulla Beach, while enjoying the eclectic sounds  of our most talented musicians.

4pm to 9pm join Alex Hurt, Evie J Willie, Tim Moxey, The Coldplay Show and Endless Summer Beach Party.






AUSTRALIA DAY 2019 CHARITY PARTNER

All funds raised during council’s Australia Day events will go to Rural Aid Australia, Rural Aid was founded in 2015 to provide a holistic support program to rural Australia.

Rural Aid understands the needs of our primary producers and aims to lend a helping hand when times are tough.

They have a number of programs designed with rebuilding and repairing in mind.

These include Buy a Bale, the Farm Rescue and Weekend Warriors programs, as well as the Farm Army job board where farmers can find the help they need.

AUSTRALIA DAY MAYOR'S MESSAGE

We are gearing up for Australia Day in 2019, which last year attracted more than 35,000 people. Our event in Cronulla is one of the largest and longest running in the country. Saturday 26 January, will start with a morning Citizenship Ceremony at Sutherland before Cronulla Beach and Blaxland Oval, Illawong host a non-stop program of outstanding entertainment. Read more
