Come and hear about the small expedition team of two who retraced a 500km survival run in some of the harshest conditions on the planet.

In 2007 Shire resident and adventurer John Stoukalo took part in recreating Sir Douglas Mawson's 1912 epic sled journey, using the same meagre rations and Heroic Era clothing and equipment.

John presents first person insight on the extremes the Heroic Era explorers endured, specifics of polar expeditions, and the challenges of film making in extreme environments.
