Summer Reading Club

We are encouraging everyone to get reading these holidays - the more you read, the more chances you have of winning.

For Kids Aged 0-11 (year 6 in 2018)

Whether you live in the Shire or are just visiting, join the Summer Reading Club. Simply borrow and read books from the Sutherland Shire Libraries collection before 4 February for your chance to win. For every 5 books you read you get a reward and a ticket in the lucky prize draw.

How it Works

  1. Visit any Sutherland Shire Library to register and collect your Reading Log. Parents can join up and read to children who cannot read by themselves.
  2. Borrow and read books from any Sutherland Shire Library between Monday, 11 December and Sunday, 4 February.
  3. When you return your books to the Library show the library staff the books you have read and your Reading Log so they can be counted in the Summer Reading Club.

For Ages 12-17 (year 7 upwards)

High school students who live or are holidaying in the Shire this summer are encouraged to participate in the teen reading club. For every book you read before 4 February you get a ticket in the lucky draw for a prize.

How it Works

  1. Read young adult or adult fiction novels, non-fiction, audiobook, e-books or digital magazine borrowed from any Sutherland Shire Library between Monday, 11 December and Sunday, 4 February.
  2. For each book you've read fill out an entry form, (also available from the library).
  3. Visit any Sutherland Shire Library and hand in the entry form at the information desk.
  4. Check out our New Items Lists to inspire your reading.

Full competition details are explained in the Terms and Conditions.
