Sutherland Library houses a collection of historical maps, including aerial photography, of the Sutherland Shire.
There are a range of different types of maps including:
- Parish maps
- Sub-division maps
- Valuer-general maps
- Walking and bicycle maps
These maps can be used for historical or house-hunting research. They can be found in the Local Studies and Reference rooms at Sutherland Library.
Our collection of aerial photography can be viewed from Shire Maps, the council's mapping application. The most recent set is from 2018, however there are aerial photography maps ranging right back to 1930 available. After opening Shire Maps, click on the Aerial Photos layer and choose a year to view.
